At the start of my journey I really struggled with all the jargon and acronyms around the place, so I thought I’d create a bit of a list to help people out:

| HISA | High Interest Savings Account |
| FIRE | Financial Independence Retire Early |
| ETF | Exchange traded funds |
| LIC | Listed Investment Companies |
| BaristaFIRE | Someone who plans to FIRE but still work part-time |
| LeanFIRE | For those that want to approach the problem of financial independence from a minimalist, stoic, frugal, or anti-consumerist trajectory |
| FatFIRE | FatFIRE is the the pursuit of financial independence and/or early retirement on at least an upper-middle class lifestyle |
